Woman charged with multiple offences after security guard assaulted

A woman from Warwickshire has been charged with a number of offences. It comes after there were reports of a security officer being assaulted as he tried to prevent a shoplifter leaving a store. Laura Wardall, of no fixed address, has been charged with three counts of theft and one count each of common assault, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Wardall was arrested by Warwickshire Police officers after she tried leaving the shop in Watling Street, Grendon, on Wednesday (April 27).

The force say the offences Wardall has been charged with happened between March 19 and April 27.

The 39-year-old is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today (April 29).
