Gloucestershire police to review crowded places security policy following Berlin lorry attack

A REVIEW of crowded places security policy will be carried out by Gloucestershire Constabulary following the Berlin lorry attack. Twelve people died and 49 others were injured when a lorry was driven at crowds at Breitscheidplatz Christmas market in the German capital on Monday. A police spokesman said: “We will be reviewing our crowded places security policy in light of the Berlin incident to check whether there are any other measures we should take.

“Our officers involved in security planning are being kept up to date with developments in this area and we would encourage everyone to remain vigilant to the threat of terrorism.”

The UK terror threat level remains at severe, which means an attack is highly likely.
