Defence Minister and Army Chief review security in Kashmir

Highlights1Defence Minister, Army Chief arrived in Kashmir to review over all security.2Parrikar, Gen Singh brief at BB Cantt on security and measures taken by Army.3Parikkar to meet more troops deployed in other areas tomorrow.Defence minister Manohar Parrikar[1] and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh today arrived in Kashmir to review the overall security situation.

They first visited the frontier area of Uri where they were briefed by the local Commanders in the presence of Northern Army and Chinar Corps Commanders Lt Gen DS Hooda and Lt Gen JS Sandhu respectively.Also Read: Manohar Parrikar in Uri today, first visit since Army’s surgical strikes[2]
TO REMAIN IN HIGH STATE OF ALERTThe Defence Minister also interacted with the troops deployed in the forward areas over tea.

While complimenting their valour and fortitude, which he said was the entire nation’s pride, he also impressed upon the soldiers to remain in a very high state of alert to give a befitting response to any misadventure from across the border
