Top civil military huddle reviews NAP implementation

Islamabad: PM Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday presided over a meeting to discuss and review NAP implementation. Gen. Nasser Janjua briefed the top civilian and military leadership about various aspects of the National Action Plan ( NAP). The meeting was convened to review coordination between security agencies and law enforcement agencies at federal and provincial level.

As per sources, during the NAP meeting, NSA Nasser Janjua told that the registration process of religious seminaries (madrassa) is being completed. And the task of geo-mapping will be completed soon. The participants agreed on a crackdown on banned militant organizations operating in the provinces with changed names.

The meeting was also informed that laws have been formulated in order to stop funding of the banned organizations and militant outfits. Due to intelligence sharing and coordination among military and civilian institutions, several terrorist attacks were foiled, told NSA Nasser Janjua. NAP meeting agreed that the federal government will provide for resources to the provinces to undertake necessary steps to curtail terrorism.

Top civilian and military leadership participated in the meeting. Raheel- Shahbaznap-3 The meeting comes a day after All Parties Conference (APC)[1] presided over by PM to discuss the situation after tensions along LoC with India.
