The family of a security guard injured last year during a rampage at a Cobb County FedEx plant says their expectations of him being healthy again have been shattered.

Chris Sparkman’s wife, Jamie Lynn says he has had 32 surgeries since the shooting last April.

Sparkman was having complications following his 26th surgery last month and was placed in a medically-induced coma.

After his latest surgery, his wife says the surgeons told said there was nothing else they could do and Sparkman would be “inoperable” again for another year.

Sparkman, an Army veteran, was the first person shot when Geddy Kramer walked into a FedEx ground facility in Kennesaw and shot 6 people before turning the gun on himself last April.

His wife says watching him go through it all over gain has taken a toll on their family, emotionally and financially.

She left her job to care for Sparkman and says he has been denied disability twice from the government.
