NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) A security guard at a north Nashville restaurant fired several shots at fleeing car after a customer was shot in the parking lot early Saturday morning.

It happened outside the Waffle House located at 238 West Trinity Lane around 1 a.m.

Police told News 2 a man exited the restaurant and was shot in the leg by two black males in a gray sedan.

A security guard witnessed the shooting and fired shots at the vehicle in self-defense.

The man who was initially shot was transported to Tristar Skyline Medical Center with minor injuries.

One of the suspects in the vehicle may have been shot by the guard, as a second victim showed up later at Tristar Skyline Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

He is listed in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspects.

No additional details were released.

The investigation is ongoing.
