Co-op City security guard grazed by bullet fired from window

A Co-op City public safety officer was grazed by a bullet fired from an apartment window Sunday night, police said.

NYPD and Co-op City officers were responding to a fight between two men in front of Donizetti Pl. in the sprawling complex in Baychester around 11 p.m. when a gunman fired from a window, police said.

The bullet hit the peacekeeper in the shoulder and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition, cops said.

It was not immediately clear who was the intended target, cops said.

The gunman was at large, according to police.

The Co-op City Department of Public Safety is a private police squad with over 100 public safety officers that serve the over 43,000 residents of the complex.
